New intelligent extinguishing module GreCon IEM

The new smart GreCon IEM intelligent extinguishing module makes existing spark extinguishing systems by Fagus-GreCon even smarter and more reliable. The sensors integrated into the intelligent extinguishing module improve the facilities’ operating safety by integrated early wear recognition.
Automatic early wear recognition for greater safety
Very small leaks are detected automatically and reported to the control centre. The facility’s operator is proactively informed that wear parts need to be replaced soon, enabling them to plan the exchange systematically. When temperatures approach freezing, the integrated temperature supervision will activate the heating cartridge to ensure smooth operation of the facility even in outdoor areas. The risk of unplanned downtimes lowers and availability increases.
Maintenance based on wear data
Progress in the sensors also permits specification of custom maintenance intervals based on wear data. Such dynamic maintenance intervals within the scope of predictive maintenance not only extend maintenance intervals but also increase the service lives of the spare parts monitored in this fashion, harmonising the two targets of “reducing unintended downtimes” and “optimal use of components” that are still often perceived as conflicting with the use of high-performance sensors.
Dynamic maintenance intervals must be considered in the corresponding rules in order to integrate more sustainable use of resources from application of dynamic maintenance intervals into the production process even better than before. This is a subject that we will deal with more intensely in future.
