With its extensive investments in product development and services, fire protection and measuring technology specialist Fagus-GreCon considers itself well positioned for the trade audience at LIGNA. As in the past, the company will present many innovations at the largest leading trade fair for woodworking and wood processing plants, machines and tools from 15 to 19 May.

Digital transformation, increasing demands on efficiency and the resource-conserving use of wood as a raw material as the driving force behind green materials processing - with its focus on current industry topics, LIGNA is probably the most important trend barometer for the entire wood-based materials industry. "We have a lot of new products on offer and are looking forward to presenting them to the trade public," says Uwe Kahmann, Managing Director of Fagus-GreCon, about the company's participation as an exhibitor. "Extensive investments have been made in product developments and our services. This is now paying off for our customers. At LIGNA, we present the right answers to urgent industry questions," he continues.

Measurement technology highlights at LIGNA 2023

The further development of the inline thickness measurement GreCon THICKNESSCONTROL focuses on the constantly increasing demands on measurement technology systems. The robust system enables measurements of almost the entire panel, even at high production speeds. With GreCon GASANALYSER MC, the company presents its innovative product development for determining the formaldehyde emission of wood-based materials. Outstanding features are the considerably shortened testing times, improved operability and noticeably extended calibration intervals.

The full-surface measuring mat scanner GreCon MATCONTROL HF - used for measuring the weight per unit area and detecting foreign bodies in the field of chipboard and fibreboard, also offers customers relevant improvements. In terms of efficiency and resource management, the main focus here was on optimising operating costs. With the edge inspection system GreCon EDGEINSPECT, the company draws on its many years of expertise in the field of scanner technology. EDGEINSPECT is a quality control system for furniture edges and door frames that detects defects such as broken edges, missing or too short decorative strips or breaks in edges.

Fire prevention - smart sensor technology complements proven mechanics

In fire prevention, Fagus-GreCon has continued the digitalisation of its product portfolio. Following the Intelligent Detection Technology IDT® at the last LIGNA, it now presents a maintenance-optimised extinguishing system with Intelligent Extinguishment Technology IET®.

"An important aspect of our digitisation plans are the diagnostic properties of our systems to detect wear effects and prevent downtime," explains Nils Vespermann, Head of Product Management at Fagus-GreCon. The goals are, among other things, "better planned and shortened maintenance operations, which contribute to increased productivity", explains Vespermann.

Structurally, too, Fagus-GreCon continues to invest in the expansion of its services. An exemplary component is the newly created position of service advisor. With this, the company expects even closer customer support over the entire life cycle of the GreCon systems.
