The iF DESIGN AWARD is one of the world's most prestigious accolades for outstanding design. Now, Fagus-GreCon has received the highest honor. The independent iF judging panel has awarded the iF Gold Award to the GreCon PROTECTOR, the next generation of preventive industrial fire protection systems (comprising spark/flame detection, a control center, and an extinguishing module).

Thanks to its intuitive user interface, modular design, and seamless integration of functionality and aesthetics, the GreCon PROTECTOR sets new standards in industrial safety. It detects and extinguishes sparks in pipelines, machine fire protection, and object protection, helping to prevent fires and explosions in production facilities—before they even occur.

User-oriented design as a driving principle

The iF judging panel especially praised Fagus-GreCon for successfully combining user-friendliness and industrial safety, inspired by the company’s deep-rooted Bauhaus principles. The system integrates advanced technology with intuitive operation, greatly simplifying the users' daily tasks.
“This award once again confirms our practical innovation power. At Fagus-GreCon, we develop not only in the lab but where production processes need protection. Close collaboration with our customers is key to our innovation process, paired with a strong pioneering spirit. This practical approach was honored with the iF DESIGN AWARD 2025 in Gold,” says Dr. Michael Mehlhorn, Head of Global R&D Fire Prevention at Fagus-GreCon.

Looking back, design and innovation have a long tradition at Fagus-GreCon. In 1995, the company won an iF DESIGN AWARD in Red. Three decades later, Gold follows – a further confirmation of the company’s continuous innovation and a great recognition for its employees.
